Wolong Panda Base Private Day Tour Volunteering
*Wolong Panda Base will be closed from Dec. 7th to Dec. 31st (2024) due to construction in the park.
*Starting from April 25, 2024, panda volunteers will not be allowed to enter the panda enclosure, and the arrangement of clean the panda enclosures & collect panda poop will be canceled.
Wolong national Nature Reserve is the earliest, largest, and best-know panda reserve in the world. It was hit by the catastrophic Wenchuan Earthquake in 2008. After years of road construction, travellers can visit Wolong Panda Base now.
Wolong Panda Base
Located at the southwest of Wenchuan County, and first constructed in 1963, it is one of the earliest comprehensive national reserves.

The place has more than 100 pandas, accounting 10% of the total number in the country. Besides, there are other rare animals and plants as well as rich water resources.

Itinerary
Chengdu -Wolong (2hrs drive)
06:30am-08:30am Hotel pick up to Wolong Panda Base
08:40am-9:00am Sign the paper and put the jumpsuit on
09:00am-10:30am prepare some bamboo for pandas (or watch the keeper to feed panda)
10:30am-12:00am Visit the pandas
12:00am-01:00pm Lunch
01:00pm-01:50pm Watch a documentary video
02:00pm-02:20pm prepare the special handmade food for pandas
02:20pm-03:00pm Visit the panda
03:00pm-03:10pm Congratulations! You will earn the certificate :)
03:10pm-05:10 Back to Chengdu

Notes for Panda Volunteering:
1.No perfume, no cologne, no nail polish, be healthy (don’t get cold).
2.wear shoes (no slippers or Crocs).
3.Sunscreen and sunglasses will be useful.
4.Any activities missed due to being late will not be rescheduled, and guests will bear the consequences.
